KLS Maritime

Health, Safety & Environment

Safety-led execution, environmental responsibility and professional project practices across marine, offshore and oil & gas activities.

Our HSE Commitment

At KLS Maritime, we believe that safe work is fundamental to successful project delivery. We are committed to planning and executing our activities with due regard to the health and safety of people, protection of assets and responsible management of environmental impacts.

Health & Safety First

We promote safe systems of work, competent personnel, appropriate personal protective equipment and effective control of workplace hazards.

Risk-Based Planning

Work activities are planned with attention to hazards, risk assessment, method statements, permits and site-specific requirements.

Environmental Responsibility

We seek to minimise waste, prevent pollution and handle materials, coatings and other work-related substances responsibly.

How We Apply HSE Principles

Competence & Training

Personnel and project resources are selected and briefed according to the work scope and applicable requirements.

Hazard Identification

Work planning considers foreseeable hazards and appropriate control measures before activities commence.

Safe Work Practices

We support toolbox talks, permit-to-work requirements, housekeeping and disciplined site execution.

Emergency Preparedness

Project teams are expected to understand applicable emergency arrangements and escalation procedures.

Environmental Controls

Activities are planned to reduce unnecessary emissions, spills, waste and other avoidable environmental impacts.

Continuous Improvement

Lessons learned, observations and project feedback are used to strengthen future performance.

Project-specific HSE: Where a client, shipyard, vessel, offshore installation or site has stricter HSE rules, KLS Maritime will work in accordance with the applicable contractual and site requirements, subject to applicable law.

Our Expectations from Project Partners

Where specialist manpower, equipment or services are provided by subcontractors, KLS Maritime expects project partners to demonstrate appropriate competence, manpower capability, statutory compliance, safe working practices and adequate insurance for the contracted scope.

Subcontractors will be required to comply with applicable client and site HSE requirements and with the terms of the relevant subcontract. KLS Maritime will retain appropriate oversight of project execution and HSE performance.
